Dr Lillian Akorfa Ohene, is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Community Health Nursing, School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Ghana. She holds a PhD in Nursing from De Montfort University, Leicester, UK. Prior to this, Lillian graduated her Bachelors in Nursing and Master of Philosophy in Nursing all from the University of Ghana, Legon. She has over fifteen years’ teaching experience in higher academic institution. Currently, Dr Ohene teaches at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Her research interest focuses on holistic care of sick children, the wellbeing of women and their families. In recent years, Dr Ohene have independently and collaboratively engaged in active research activities including, exploring her research interest from different perspectives and publishing scientific papers in peer reviewed international journals. She also serve as a mentor to several groups of clinical nurse leaders. By way of community services, Dr Ohene renders her expertise and services to both the School of Nursing and Midwifery, the College of Health Sciences and the University of Ghana.
These services include serving on a number of committees and advisory boards within the University of Ghana. In the wider academic community, she serves as a reviewer for a number of journals, including International Journal of African Nursing Science and International Journal of Transcultural Nursing. Furthermore, her services to the University include serving as the contact faculty for our numerous international nursing and midwifery students from Canada, Norway and United State of America.
