About
Mark Seyram Amenyo-Xa began his professional career as an administrator and curator with the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board and has over a decade’s experience working with the Forts and Castles World Heritage Site. He was a member of the research and drafting team of the first-ever Integrated Management Plan for the Forts and Castles World heritage Site. He now teaches full-time in the Department of Archaeology and Heritage Studies at the University of Ghana. He has a wealth of experience in collections care and management, exhibition development, and heritage management. His research interests include the conservation of historic masonry buildings, conservation of built heritage, and heritage commodification. He has co-curated and worked on curatorial teams of many exhibitions, the most recent of them being ‘The Kakum National Park Museum’, ‘Authoring Slavery’, ‘The Return of Afro-Treasures’ and ‘Planet Africa - Ghana’ Exhibitions. He holds a PhD in Museum and Heritage Studies from the University of Ghana.
