As you may be aware, University of Ghana did not implement the fee increases approved by Parliament for the 2019/2020 academic year. The main reason for deferment of the fee increases at the time was to avoid exacerbating the financial impact on parents of the pandemic which had just begun.
However, due to the increasing cost of operations and the fact that Parliament has not as at today, 13th December 2022 approved fees for the 2022/2023 academic year, it has become necessary for the University to implement the 2019/2020 approved fees as an interim measure.
Below are additional costs that have been included as approved by the respective student governance bodies, and endorsed by the University Council:
GRASAG Development Levy – GHS 250
GRASAG 75th Anniversary Legacy Project – GHS 100
SRC Development Levy – GHS 100
By an order from the Courts, a Reprographic Fee of GHS 5 per student has been included in the fees.
Residential fees have also been increased, and an additional one-time electronic access fee of GHS 300 each is being charged to residents of the traditional halls (Volta, Commonwealth, Mensah Sarbah, Akuafo and Legon halls), as contribution towards the cost of installation and maintenance of electronic access control systems at the halls to enhance security.
Please be informed that the fee schedules published are provisional and the schedules and amounts to be paid will be updated once fees for the 2022/2023 academic year are approved by Parliament.
