Ghana and Japan Student Exchange Fair – 2017

The University community is informed that the University of Ghana in collaboration with Hokkaido University, Japan, is organising The Ghana and Japan Student Exchange Fair – 2017.

 

The University community is entreated to partake in the programme which takes place as follows:

Date    :           Wednesday, 15th February 2017

Venue :           Great Hall, Legon Campus, University of Ghana

Time   :           9:00 a.m. – 0:30 p.m. (Workshop for University Staff Only)

                       1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Seminar for Students)

 

Faculty are kindly requested to encourage their students to take part in the Seminar on Study-in-Japan. Please also check the attached programme for more details.

 

There will be two (2) sessions as follows:

 

1.      Morning Session (Joint workshop) 9:00-12:30 for Academic and Administrative Staff only

 

The morning session which is a joint workshop will be held for academic and administrative university staff in order to strengthen collaboration/partnership of universities between Ghana and Japan. Participating universities in Ghana will have more opportunities to enter into future academic collaboration and students exchange with the universities in Japan.

11:00-12:00  Free group discussion amongst participants

12:00-12:25  Presentation on outcomes of group discussions

12:25-12:30  Vote of thanks

 

The Japanese universities, namely Hokkaido University, International University of Japan, Kanazawa University, Kyoto University, Mie University, Tokyo Medical & Dental University, Tsukuba University (Tukuba will take part in a teleconference) will be coming to explain the opportunities at their universities and discuss future academic collaboration with your institute.

 

The particular fields of Japanese professors are as follows:

And administrative staff who are in charge of International Collaboration from Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) and Japan Society for the Promotion of Sciences (JSPS), Hokkaido University, International University of Japan, Kyoto University are also coming to discuss future students exchange with your institute.

 

2.      Afternoon Session (Seminar on Study-in-Japan) 13:30-17:00 for Students and Graduates of Universities in Ghana

 

The Seminar on Study-in-Japan will be held for students and graduates of universities in Ghana, pupils and career masters of high schools in Ghana, faculties and university staff etc. Any person interested in studying in Japan is welcome.

 

The Japanese universities, namely Hokkaido University, International University of Japan, Kyoto University, Mie University, Tokyo Medical & Dental University, Kanazawa University will be coming to explain the details of and opportunities at their universities. Japanese Embassy of Ghana, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) and Japan Society for the Promotion of Sciences (JSPS) Nairobi Research Station in Kenya will provide the information of their scholarship systems. Alumni who studied at Japanese universities will give a talk about their experiences in Japan.

 

They will also hold individual consultations for participants. Furthermore, brochures and pamphlets for display and distribution will be provided by 20 universities in Japan as follows:
