VACANCY FOR COLLEGE INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMMES COORDINATOR POSITION AT EACH COLLEGE

Following the approval of the University of Ghana’s Internationalisation Strategy by the Business and Executive Committee (BEC), Senior Management of the University of Ghana has also given approval for colleges to appoint College International Programmes Coordinators (CIPC) in accordance with the Strategy.

 

POSITION: College International Programmes Coordinator

REPORTING TO: Provost of the relevant College

THE ROLE:

College International Programmes Coordinators (CIPC) shall have responsibility for:

a)     The development and implementation of the College's internationalisation strategy in line with the University of Ghana Internationalisation Strategy;

b)     The promotion, facilitation and co-ordination of internationalisation activities at the College level;

c)     Support/Work with the International Programmes Office (IPO) in other aspects of the University's external relations activity, including international student recruitment, admissions, marketing, communications and alumni relations and development at the college level;

d)     Leading their colleges to further strengthen international competitiveness of the college, promote the college academic programs abroad, and work with IPO Recruitment Officers to drive international student recruitment and admissions in a bid to achieve a 10 percent international enrolment quota for the college;

e)     Supporting the Provost and College Secretary in setting standards and ensuring effective global engagement to promote the international reputation of the College;

f)      Supporting IPO in administering collaborative agreements with the College’s external partners;

g)     Promoting strategic partnerships between the College, other universities abroad, relevant industries and the business community around the globe;

h)     Promoting and ensuring full participation of the college in all internationalisation activities;

i)       Serving as a member of the Management Committee of IPO as envisaged by the University of Ghana Internationalisation Strategy; and,

j)       The preparation of annual reports on internationalisation activities in the College for the consideration of the Management Committee of IPO.

 

DUTIES

The appointment of Coordinators, beyond serving as a member of the Management Committee at IPO and a member of the Internationalisation Strategy Committee, will focus on achieving specific targets for the college as outlined in the University of Ghana Strategy for Internationalisation and ensure consistent improvement in its relationship with external stakeholders in line with the fast-evolving and highly competitive global higher education environment.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

The College International Programmes Coordinator must:

1.  Be a Senior Lecturer or higher rank and a member of the relevant College;

2.  Be well-versed in international and global engagement drive in higher education, particularly the University of Ghana Internationalisation Strategy; and,

3.  Possess an appreciable level of international exposure as faculty in the higher education environment.

 

TENURE OF APPOINTMENT

The College International Programme Coordinator shall serve an initial term of two years which is renewable for another term of two years only.
