Research Interest
Current Research 2020-2024 Team Member and PhD Supervisor - Fertilizer Research and Responsible Implementation Project (FERARI). Research partnership involving Mohammed IV Polytechnic University (UM6P), IFDC, Wageningen University and Research, and University of Ghana. The basic premise of FERARI is the need to make research and implementation efforts in the fertilizer sector more impactful by conducting research to come up with readily implementable solutions and to assure that policy and implementation effort by implementing organizations are backed by scientific findings. The objective of this public-private endeavor is to develop the evidence base for a systematic approach to support widespread adoption of balanced fertilizers by farmers in the less developed markets of sub-Saharan African countries – specifically Ghana – as a means to improve their food and nutrition security. 2015-2020 Project Management Team Member, USAID Feed the Future Institutional Capacity Building for Agricultural Productivity Project. University of Ghana, School of Agriculture, Legon. The overall goal of the project is to improve sustainable agricultural productivity and food security through the training of scientists in plant breeding, biotechnology, crop and soil science, economic policy management, and business capacity building in response to the need for augmenting the human and institutional capacities of targeted Ghanaian institutions for improving service delivery to enhance economic growth. 2013-2018 Co-investigator, Insect-based Feed and Fertilizer Production via waste transformation for small-holders in Ghana. Joint research project partnered by FibL, BNARI, UG and CSIR/WRI.
