5. Profile Summary
Dr. Samuel Howard Quartey is a Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Development and Education at the Department of Adult Education and HR Studies; and a Coordinator at the University of Ghana Learning Centre – Koforidua, in the School of Continuing and Distance Education of the College of Education, University of Ghana. Before joining University of Ghana, he has held other academic positions at Central University-Ghana as a Senior Lecturer; University of Adelaide – Australia as a Casual Lecturer; and Webster University-USA, as an Adjunct Assistant Professor. Dr. Quartey holds a PhD in Management (with specialization in Knowledge Management and Organisational Development) from the University of Adelaide, Australia. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology; and Master of Philosophy degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Ghana. Dr. Quartey serves as an Assessor for Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC). He also serves as External Examiner and Assessor for private and public universities in Ghana. He is an Editorial Board Member for Business Strategy and Development Journal-Wiley, as well as a Reviewer for international peer-review high impact quality journals. His current research examines critical issues in Human Resource Development and Education including competence, training, learning, skill development, inclusion, diversity, sustainability, employee engagement, employee wellbeing, leadership, followership, leadership development, gender, career development and organisation development. He is a member of Academy of Human Resource Development-USA, Development Studies Association –UK and African Academy of Management.
