Brief History


Medical-surgical nursing is referred to as general nursing in most institutions and it formed a core part of the nursing programme at the inception of the department of nursing. General nursing forms the basis of most nursing education programmes globally. The Adult Health Department was calved out of the School of Nursing in 2003 when the then Department of Nursing became a School within the College of Health Sciences, University of Ghana. Faculty strength improved from two lecturers in 2003 to nine in 2018. The department has very dedicated faculty members and visionary leadership. The research activities of faculty and students has also improved over the years.
