Objectives and Vision
- Providing the basic biological/zoological background for the medical, veterinary, agricultural and veterinary sciences,
- Researching into the richness and variety of animal life in a tropical environment which remained largely unexplored, and
- Promoting the economic and social well-being of the people through research into the health factors that militated against the effective pursuit of agriculture and other human activities (e.g. control of insect disease vectors, agricultural pests, and parasitic worms).
