THEA 652 (MEDIA ARTS): Media Analysis



The course focuses on the textual reading of media as an analytical practice, fundamental to media studies and

explores the relationship between texts, historical and cultural contexts and interpretative frameworks. It will examine

key debates concerning such issues as national identity, core/periphery, industry development and cultural policy.

It will also discuss factors in the representation of Ghana and “Ghanaianess” in media production generally.
