The depiction of women and men in the media has long been a subject of concern. This course will examine issues such as: representation of women
and men in mainstream media and their portrayal in stereotypical ways; how constantly polarized gender messages in media have fundamentally
anti-social effects; how advertising, television programming, newspaper and magazines, comic books, popular music, film and video games depict gender images.
