THEA 622 (APPLIED THEATRE): Popular Theatre Practice

The course explores the use of improvisation, storytelling, drama and theatre to explore complex social issues through

the involvement of the community in attempt to fashion out solutions. Through the study of theories of community, culture,

identity in relation to performing arts practice, students develop individual projects using various approaches to tackling

developmental issues in selected communities through the use of theatre under faculty supervision.
