THEA 616 (Technical Theatre): Advanced Costume and Make-Up

This course covers ideas for theatrical costume design and make-up focusing on pattern development and construction

techniques used to develop 3-dimensional theatrical costumes. It will further develop advanced knowledge in costume production,

flat patterning, draping techniques, design process, understanding and use of colour theory and fabric. Students develop an understanding

of character and script analysis, theatrical composition, collaboration with directors, designers, actors and mastering their rendering skills. 

Other areas of focus include advanced skills in costume technology,  jewelry-making, armour, and masks.
