Dr. Dzidzo Yirenya-Tawiah

Her award worth USD1,500 was to enable her participate in the Ecocity World Summit in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in October 2015.

Dr. Yirenya-Tawiah indicated the conference was insightful as she has gained a better understanding into the world’s view of ecocities, their frameworks and the standard features for the Eco cities. Narrating her experience, she said:

“The Conference provided me the opportunity of learning mainly from the perspectives of the North America, Europe and the Arab Region Area efforts being undertaken in developing ecocities. Developing countries experience was minimal and this observation ignited discussions among participants from Africa to begin working together to share our own local /regional experiences in the development of Ecocities. Overall the conference also offered opportunity to identify potential research partners.”
