Welcome by Head of Department

A hearty welcome to all alumni, prospective and continuing students, Faculty and staff. We appreciate your interest in the Department for the Study of Religions. Our Department seeks to be a leader in the study of religions in Africa by providing a high quality and effective academic study of religions and theology and becoming a globally recognized centre of excellence in this field.

Our committed and highly sought after academics continually engage in outstanding research and have also strengthened existing relationships and established new ones with renowned universities worldwide in order to collaborate and undertake research projects for mutual benefits. We offer students the highest quality of educational experience; these could be said to be responsible for our increased graduate applications. Our courses are of national and international standards; our students are results oriented, have integrity and readily respond to the needs of the multicultural environment from the perspectives of religion for a just, inclusive, peaceful and humane society.

The Department is excited to be part of the School of Arts and College of Humanities contribution in making the University of Ghana a world class institution.

We encourage you to explore this site or visit us personally for any additional information.
