PFRH 614 PUBLIC HEALTH NUTRITION

This course will cover the following topics: introduction to the dimensions of nutrition, nutritional assessment and surveillance in various risk groups. Malnutrition will be discussed as observed across the life-cycle with special focus on childhood undernutrition, micronutrient deficiencies and disorders, and over-nutrition, as well as the links between nutrition transition and the double burden of malnutrition. Key topics such as Infant and young child feeding, nutrition policies, dietary and physical activity guidelines, and other intervention strategies will be discussed in the context of emerging trends in nutrition situation and the global response.
