The poster presentation forum will maximize your opportunity to interact with participants and answer their questions. In presenting your research with a poster, you should aim to use the poster as a means for generating active discussion of the research.

A. DISPLAY DIMENSIONS

  • Your poster should be, one metre x one metre poster
  • A board will be provided to hang your poster.

B. FORMAT

  • Poster presentations are hard‐copy (paper/poster) format only.
  • Posters must fit within the designated display area.
  • The most successful and attractive posters are graphically produced posters that highlight and summarize the main points, with the poster presenter filling in the details.
  • The entire poster layout should be readable from six to ten feet away.
  • The least effective poster format is a photocopy of the manuscript.

C. POSTERS SHOULD INCLUDE

  • The paper title or program title and all authors at the top of the poster.
  • A brief introduction, goals/objectives/hypotheses, methods, key findings from the research/program, conclusions, and references (make sure this information is presented in a logical and clear sequence).
  • Explanations for graphs, pictures, and tables.

D. VISUALS

  • The poster design can be in landscape format. It generally should read from left to right, and top to bottom.
  • Make sure that any visual can "stand alone" (i.e., graph axes are properly labeled, maps have north arrows and distance scales, symbols are explained, etc.).
  • Use color to enhance comprehension, not to decorate the poster.
  • Make sure that the text and the visuals are integrated. Figures should be numbered consecutively according to the order in which they are first mentioned in the text.
  • Each visual should have a brief title (for example: Figure 1- Location of study area).

E. SET UP INSTRUCTIONS

  • Presenters will be provided with materials to affix their posters on the board
  • Presenters will be expected to set-up their poster to the board.
  • Paper numbers will be placed on the poster boards in numerical order; please find your paper number and put up your poster in the designated space.
