Physical Activity, Sports and Health for Development in Africa (PASHDA) is an initiative spearhead by the African Physical Activity Network (AFPAN). AFPAN is a network related to physical activity and public health and aims at promoting physical activity for health across the African continent.

The network is the African branch of the Global Alliance for Physical Activity (GAPA). The aim of PASHDA is to provide an opportunity for scholars, researchers, practitioners and other stakeholders in the African continent and beyond to share novel research findings, programs, initiatives and lessons through conferences, workshops, exhibitions, symposia and seminars. The overarching goal of PASHDA is to promote physical activity, sports and health for growth and development in Africa through healthy active living.

We are pleased that the next PASHDA meeting will be held at The University of Ghana, Legon, Ghana in September 2018.
