RESEARCH MANAGEMENT TRAINING WORKSHOPS

 

As part of efforts and in order to promote and enhance research management capacity initiatives at the University of Ghana, various research management training workshops were organized for research support staff as well as faculty.

IN-HOUSE TRAINING WORKSHOPS

 

Research Management Fellows (including research managers from ORID and Research Development Officers) who had to opportunity to participate in the Study Visits delivered half-day training workshops at ORID to share the knowledge acquired/ lessons learned from the study visits and as well as provide training on research management practices to enhance work output.

Participants for these workshops included research support staff at ORID and other Research Development Officers from the various Colleges.

CAPREX RESEARCH MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP

 

In May 2014, research support staff as well as some academic staff at the University of Ghana had the opportunity to participate and benefit from a “Three-day CAPREx Research Management Training Workshop” which was delivered by research managers from the Cambridge Research Operations Office.

The workshop, which was organized from 14th – 16th May, 2014 covered topics on Contracts, Costing and Pricing and Excel and provided participants with training in the management of research contracts and agreements as well as provided better understanding in the costing and pricing of research in relation with the sponsor’s terms and conditions and the role of research support staff in the development of applications for funding.
