University of Rosario Rector Calls On Vice-Chancellor

The Columbian Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Claudia Turbay Quintero and the Rector of the University of Rosario, Rector Jose Manuel Restrepo have paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Prof. Ebenezer Oduro Owusu. The visit was to discuss ways of strengthening educational ties between Ghana and Columbia.  

Rector Jose Manuel Restrepo expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor for the opportunity to meet him and extended his appreciation also to the Columbian Ambassador for making it possible for the two universities to discuss possible partnerships. He said he was desirous in establishing South-South Higher Educational relationships as part of their internationalisation strategy.

Rector Restrepo was hopeful that this would ultimately result in the two  universities identifying ways of working together to build Latino America-Africa relations and explore other possibilities.

In his response, Professor Oduro Owusu assured him of the University’s readiness to forge sustainable partnership between the University of Ghana and University of Rosario.

The delegation later met with some faculty members to discuss future alliances in specific areas of educational growth between the two universities. The University of Ghana and University of Rosario hope to build strong ties that would cover more students and faculty exchanges.

Present at the meeting were Professor Samuel Agyei-Mensah, Provost of the College of Humanities and Miss Afi Sefakor Mensa of the Columbian Embassy.
