Vice-Chancellor Receives Delegation from Islamic University College

Dr. Ali Abbasi, Chancellor, Islamic University College, Ghana and President, Al-Mustafa International University, Iran, has paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebenezer Oduro Owusu.

In brief remarks, Dr. Ali Abbasi indicated that the visit was to discuss partnership agreement with the University. Highlighting the activities of Al-Mustafa International University, Dr. Abassi listed Cultural Studies, Linguistics, Sociology and Economics as the major programmes offered at the University.

Dr. Ali Abbasi was optimistic that the cordial relationship that has existed between the University of Ghana and the Islamic University College, Ghana will serve as a spring board for a fruitful collaboration with the University of Ghana.

In his response, Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu noted that International partnerships was in line with the University’s Strategic Plan and expressed his excitement in forging a partnership with Al-Mustafa International University. He added that the partnership, when initiated, will not only strengthen the relationship between the two Universities but also fortify the existing ties between Ghana and Iran. The Vice Chancellor further assured the delegation of a reciprocal visit aimed at signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions.

 

Other members of the delegation included Dr. Mohsen Maareti, President Islamic University College, Dr. Ghambari, Vice President, Al-Mustafa International University, Dr. Gamel Nasser, Vice President, Academic Affairs and Mr. Ibrahim Sumaila, Director, Special Duties, Islamic University College.
