VC Hands over Brand-New 33-seater Bus to University Health Services

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, has presented a brand new 33-seater bus to the University Health Services at a brief ceremony held at the premises of the Hospital. 

According to the Vice-Chancellor, the new bus will support the Hospital's operations, which include public health outreach, vaccination, and counselling services in communities such as Mempeasem, Shiashie and Okponglo.

She expressed excitement that the initiative has been carried out and completed under her leadership, which is in line with her commitment to enhancing operational efficiency throughout the University

‘These initiatives bear testament to our University’s conscious efforts to promote and support humanism which is increasingly becoming important in the provision of health care locally and globally,’ the VC mentioned.

Lastly, she advised the Hospital Management to use the vehicle responsibly to benefit the University and the surrounding communities.

Following her address, she officially handed over the keys to Dr. Timothy Senunyeme, Acting Director of University Health Services, and joined guests in cutting the ribbon to formally commission the vehicle.

Dr. Senunyeme lauded University Management, most especially the Vice-Chancellor, for her efforts and critical role in ensuring that the bus was procured.

“During the periodic updates, Staff of the University Health Services were informed about the role you, Lady Vice-Chancellor, have played to ensure that this bus was procured, despite the bottlenecks, including the astronomical price increases that almost derailed the process,” he said.

He assured Management that the Hospital was ready to maintain the bus and use it purely for the purpose for which it was purchased
