University of Ghana Receives Delegation from University of Dayton

An eight member delegation from the University of Dayton, have paid a working visit to the University of Ghana to explore opportunities for collaboration.  The visit was led by Sangita Gosalia, Director, Campus Engagement Centre for International Programme.

In brief remarks, she gave an overview of the University of Dayton and revealed that the purpose of the visit was to explore opportunities to collaborate with faculty with the aim of advancing prospective areas of research and academia through a programme called Global Education Seminar. According to the Director their areas of interest include Music, Criminal Justice Studies, Teacher Education, African History, Water and Waste Engineering and Physiotherapy.

Receiving the delegation, Prof. Samuel Kwame Offei, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Student Affairs) on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor welcomed the delegation to the University. He indicated that the University of Ghana was elated to partner with the University of Dayton in research. He was confident that the partnership between the two institutions will inure to the benefit both institutions.

Present at the meeting were Mrs. Mercy Haizel-Ashia, Registrar, Prof. Samuel Agyei-Mensah, Provost, College of Humanities, Prof. Michael Tagoe, Acting Provost, College of Education, Prof. Matilda Steiner-Asiedu, Dean, School of Biological Sciences, Prof. Boateng Onwona-Agyeman, Dean, College of Engineering Sciences, Mrs. Emelia Agyei-Mensah, College Secretary, College of Education and Mrs. Joanna Omaboe, Assistant Registrar, Public Affairs Directorate.

Other members of the University of Dayton delegation were Dr. Martha Hurley, Director, Criminal Justice Studies, Dr. Sharon Gratto and Dr. Bobbi Sutherland, College of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Rochonda Nenonene and Dr. Joseph Matt Day, School of Education and Health Sciences, Dr. Denise Taylor, School of Engineering and Prof. Julius A. Amin, Professor and Alumni Chair in Humanities.

As part of the visit, the delegation held working meetings with faculty from some Institutes, Schools and Department of the University and also embarked on a campus tour.
