Stanbic Bank Donates Computers to Department of Communication Studies

In-line with supporting the University to achieve its vision of becoming a world-class research-intensive University, Stanbic Bank Ghana has donated 20 computers to the Department of Communication Studies to support teaching, learning, and research in the Department.

A team led by Mr. Kojo Akoi-Larbi, Communications Manager of StandbicBank Ghana, presented the computers on behalf of the Bank. Mr.Akoi-Larbi expressed the Bank’s appreciation for the work of the Department and said the request for the support presented Stanbic with the opportunity to demonstrate its belief in educating the next generation of leaders for Ghana. 

“Learning without computers in this current age is virtually impossible. Research must happen and if we are able to facilitate this, we are sure Ghana’s growth for the future is guaranteed,” said Mr Akoi-Larbi.

The Head of the Department, Dr.AbenaA. Yeboah-Banin, expressed gratitude to Stanbic BankGhana for the support and added that the computers will be used to equip the Department’s computer laboratories including the new doctoral students’ lab.

Professor Margaret Amoakohene, a member of the Department’s faculty, also thanked Stanbic Bank Ghana and called for more collaborations in the future.
