PRO-VC ASA Tours Accra City Campus

The Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs (ASA), Prof. Gordon Awandare has paid a working visit to the Accra City Campus. 

The purpose of the visit was to familiarise himself with the teaching and learning conditions of the Campus and to interact with its management and staff since he assumed office in January 2022.

Prof. Joseph A. Yaro, Principal, Accra City Campus, received the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, ASA, warmly and together with Ms. Hannah Wilson, Assistant Registrar and Mr. Samuel Aggrey, Senior Assistant Librarian, conducted Prof. Gordon Awandare around the Campus.  Prof. Awandare had the opportunity of visiting some lecture halls where he gave pieces of advice to the students and informed them of Management’s decision to revamp the Students’ Complaint Platform to address students’ challenges. He also mentioned that some of the lecture halls had been identified to be modernised. ‘We are working hard to put conditions in place to improve your experiences here so that you can enjoy learning better’, he noted.

The Pro-Vice-Chancellor (ASA) also toured the library complex, clinic, computer laboratories, smart classrooms and the Students Reserve Collection. In addition, he thoroughly inspected the proposed lecture building which is under construction.

After the tour, he met the management and staff of Accra City Campus to discuss their concerns and suggestions and deliberate on how staff can be supported to enhance students’ experiences.  Prof. Awandare at the meeting thanked the staff for making time to interact with him. He expressed appreciation for the tremendous efforts of the staff and management of the Campus despite the challenges. He assured them of Management’s determination to upgrade the Campus and to equip staff with the needed tools to deliver exceptional results.
