MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon Makes Donation to Jean Nelson Aka Hall

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Hon. Emmanuel Agyarko has donated fifty (50) pieces of ceiling fans to the Jean Nelson Aka Hall of the University of Ghana.

Hon. Agyarko said he deemed it a privilege to serve the University which falls under his jurisdiction. He stated that he interacted with the Senior Tutor of the Hall, Dr. Ebenezer Owusu and the President of the Junior Common Room (JCR) and found out that there was the need to provide fans to the Hall for students to feel comfortable during the hot season. The MP emphasized that this was not the first time he had made a donation to the University adding that he would continue to do so to support the University.

Acknowledging the support, the Hall Master thanked the MP for his kind gesture. She called on other organizations and individuals to emulate the MP’s example adding that he should not be surprised to receive other sponsorship requests from the Hall. The Senior Tutor also expressed his profound gratitude on behalf of the Tutorial Board and said the fans donated was the perfect solution to the problem of damaged fans in students’ rooms.

The presentation of the fans coincided with the Hall’s Tutorial Board Meeting where members of the Board were present and this created an opportunity for the MP to interact with members of the Board.

Members of the Hall who were present during the presentation were: Dr. Ebenezer Owusu, Senior Tutor/Chair; Prof. (Mrs.) Angelina O. Danquah, Master; Mr. Joseph Komla Nyarku, Accounts Officer; Mr. Richard Ofori, Accounts Officer and Mrs. Anastasia Annorbah, Hall Administrator/Recorder.

Also present were Mr. Maxwel Duah, JCR President; Ms. Nana Akua Esumeng, JCR Vice-President and Mr. Derrick Xatse, JCR 1st Deputy Speaker of Parliament.
