Legon Ladies Club Clean-Up And Donation At The Children's Ward, University Hospital

The University of Ghana Legon Ladies Club (LeLaC) has organised a clean-up exercise at the Children’s ward of the University Hospital, to mark their 25th anniversary celebration.

The club also donated items worth Two Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH₵2,000.00) as part of their corporate social responsibility. Presenting the items, the President of the club, Mrs. Maame Efua Ocansey indicated that the donation was from their Fundraising Dinner organised to climax their 25th Anniversary Celebration.

Mrs. Ocansey said as a Ladies Club on campus, who were also mothers, they deemed it important to do something for children hence their decision to clean the Children’s ward and its surroundings, and also make a donation to the Children’s ward.  

Mrs. Ocansey expressed the hope that the donation would be useful to the ward. She used the opportunity to encourage other stakeholders and units in and outside the University of Ghana to support worthy causes as part of their corporate social responsibility.

Mrs. Martha Owusu Duah, a Senior Nursing Officer, Dr. Odoi Larbi and Dr. Lloyd Brako (Paediatrician) received the presentation on behalf of the ward.

Mrs. Owusu Duah expressed gratitude to the Legon Ladies Club for the clean-up exercise and kind donation and thanked them for touching the lives of children through their kind gesture. She indicated that the items which came at the right time would be used purposefully.
