Latex Foam Donates to Students Financial Aid Office

Latex Foam Rubber Company Limited has donated Twenty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH₵20,000) to the Students Financial Aid Office (SFAO), as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility to support Education and Health.

Mrs. Gifty Ekeocha Appiah, Public Relations Officer of Latex Foam, who made the presentation on behalf of the company, noted that the company was pleased to honor their commitment to the SFAO and the University. She added that due to the rising cost of living, their donation has seen an increase, for the past two years, from an initial amount of Ten Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH₵10,000) to Twenty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH₵ 20,000).

Prof. Gordon Awandare, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Academic and Students Affairs, received the donation on behalf of the University. He expressed appreciation to the Company for the kind gesture and partnership over the years. He indicated that such support enables brilliant students who gain admission into the University each year, but lack the financial resources to enroll, to gain access to quality university education.

He described the donation as timely, particularly, with the current economic challenges in the country and expressed the hope that the partnership will continue.

Present at the brief ceremony were Ms. Selina T. Saaka, Head of SFAO, Ms. Pascaline Songsore, Senior Assistant Registrar, Public Affairs Directorate, Ms. Victoria Anim, Assistant Registrar, Office of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (ASA), as well as staff from the SFAO and Office of Students with Special needs.
