International Studies Association Calls on Vice-Chancellor

Prof. Emmanuel Debrah, Acting Director of Legon Center for International Affairs and Diplomacy (LECIAD) has led a delegation from the International Studies Association (ISA) and LECIAD to officially inform the Vice-Chancellor of a decision to host an international conference in the University.

Mr. Mark A. Boyer, the Executive Director for the International Studies Association, indicated that the conference which aims at bringing together practitioners and graduate students from various countries to discuss global issues confronting international studies will be held in August 2019 at LECIAD.

Mr. Boyer took the opportunity to officially invite the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu to the conference and also made an official appeal to him to deliver the welcome address.

The Vice-Chancellor in turn, gave the delegation the assurance of the University’s cooperation in the upcoming conference.

The International Studies Association (ISA) is a broad based Social Science organization of scholars, practitioners and graduate students in the field of International Studies.

They concluded by eulogizing the late Mr. Kofi Annan, immediate past Chancellor of the University and lauded him as a fine gentleman, administrator and someone who lived for the less-powerful states. They added that he was a global icon who believed in negotiation.
