Several higher education leaders have spoken on the recent Times Higher Education global rankings following the latest release, among them the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Prof. Ernest Aryeetey.  https://www.timeshighereducation.com/news/new-faces-take-a-seat-at-extended-top-table

The Vice Chancellor believes the University has been able to excel above other public universities in Ghana over the past five years because it has more readily “accepted the need for radical change”. He added that, UG has put in a lot more effort on research than the other universities and is making more demands on students and staff.

The University of Ghana is the only University in Ghana that has made it to the recently announced THE world rankings.
