Ghana Journal of Religion and Theology Indexed in Renowned Database

The Ghana Journal of Religion and Theology, published by Department for the Study of Religions has been indexed in Atla Religion Database - the premier index of articles in all fields of theology and religion. Atla Religion Database selects content for inclusion according to its scholarly merit and scope.

This accomplishment can also be attributed to the support all University of Ghana journals received from the Building a New Generation of Academics in Africa (BaNGA-Africa) Project, Phase II, funded by the Carnegie Corporation of New York which made all UG journals accessible online.

The Department, first published the then Ghana Bulletin of Theology in 1957 to promote the scientific study of religions, champion high-quality theological education and provide a forum for the scholarly debate of the nation-building process, as Ghana worked toward becoming a fully independent country. However, production halted in 1976 and was revived in 2006.

In 2016, the journal was fully relaunched as a biannual publication. A year later, the name of the journal was changed to the Ghana Journal of Religion and Theology to broaden its scope and enhance its visibility

Congratulations to Faculty of the Department for the Study of Religions for their contributions in making the Ghana Journal of Religion and Theology achieve this great feat!
