The Centre for Ageing Studies Donates to Older Persons

The Centre for Ageing Studies (CFAS), as part of its annual outreach programmes, on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, donated assorted items to over 100 older persons in various communities in the Greater Accra and Eastern Regions of Ghana.

Beneficiaries of the donations belong to associations that collaborate with CFAS on diverse activities. The event started with an opening prayer by Rev. Dr Samuel Ayete-Nyampong, a member of the CFAS Management Committee.

Prof. Mavis Dako-Gyeke, Director, CFAS, in her welcome address expressed deep appreciation to the supporting organisations for their continued work with the Center. She encouraged family members and friends to provide adequate care for older people. She further urged the older persons to take good care of themselves and maintain healthy lifestyles during this pandemic.

While some older persons were present to collect their donations, others were unable to come to the event hence, their packages were given to agency representatives and other personnel to be delivered to them. The beneficiaries and agency representatives present expressed their gratitude to CFAS for the kind gesture.
