Akuafo Hall Makes Strides in Improving Accommodation on Campus

Akuafo Hall, one of the traditional halls of the University of Ghana, is making strides to improve student accommodation on campus. On May 9, 2023, Management of Akuafo Hall, together with representatives from the Physical Development and Municipal Services Directorate (PDMSD), inspected painting and minor repair works at Annex B of the Hall. The project, which started during the middle of the first semester of the 2022/2023 academic year, was completed in the first week of May 2023.

Following an official inspection of the block, the PDMSD team expressed satisfaction about the quality of work done, after which the contractor formally handed over the project to the Hall Management.

The Master of Akuafo Hall, Prof. Kwaku Oppong Asante, who was accompanied by the Senior Tutor, Dr. George Frimpong, the Hall Bursar and other members of the Hall, expressed his satisfaction about the timely execution of the project. The Management of the Hall has charged students in Annex B to maintain a sense of responsibility to keep the walls neat at all times as well as reduce damages to facilities in the building.

In March this year, two alumni of the Hall, Mr. Thaddeus Sory and Mr. Henry Bukari, donated a total of one hundred mattresses to the Hall to complement the University's efforts in expanding residential facilities available to students.
