Mentoring & Career Development
Each year, the School selects five outstanding students in the MA programme for an upgrade to the MPhil status. This is because the School sees its strategic role in providing human resource to take up research and academic roles in emerging institutions offering communication courses. The MPhil programme also offers the School an opportunity to identify outstanding students to enrol into its mentorship programme by which it seeks to attract young academics to join its Faculty.
Our MPhil candidates are treated as akin to junior faculty members enjoying closer collaboration with the School’s Faculty to groom them into taking up appointments in academia. They assist course lecturers in the discharge of all their duties and by so doing learn the rudiments of the job. |
