The faculty of the Department of Biochemistry are active Biochemists with diverse field of specialization ranging from enzymology, insect and parasite biochemistry, clinical biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology and molecular virology. They are selected for their interest in teaching and research. The Biochemistry faculty are on top of their field, enthusiastic, and know how to make classroom and laboratory instruction lively, interesting, and engaging. The department has 11 faculty members supported by 11 non-teaching staff. The faculty members provide a wide range of diversity in Biochemistry and across the Biosciences. The faculty maintains a very flexible schedule to ensure availability to students for consultation and informal talks and students benefit from a small student to faculty ratio.
