Regulations on the Administration of the Research and Conferences Fund
Preamble
The University of Ghana is committed to academic and professional excellence. The University therefore encourages all Senior Members to actively engage in those professional and academic activities that would contribute to or enhance the image of the institution on a global basis. In this regard, the University’s Research and Conferences Committee is designed and dedicated to promoting and providing funding for scholarly and applied research, publications, and academic conferences, seminars, workshops and training.
The Committee shall endeavour to, within reasonable financial limits and for wider coverage, fund appropriate applications for research and conferences. The University expects conscientiousness and collaborative efforts in academic research at the institution. Such works must be aimed at publications in reputable international refereed, professional and academic journals or production of Working Papers. Participation in international conferences, seminars and workshops as presenters, reviewers, critics, discussants, and chairs of sessions are highly encouraged. Equally important are possibilities of hosting or staging international conferences in Ghana. All academic efforts by Senior Members that would involve post-graduate students are especially important to the University and the Committee. |
