VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for appointment as:
Principal Accra City Campus
The Principal of the Accra City Campus reports to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Student Affairs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
a. Must be of professorial status from an academic institution.
b. Must be capable of providing academic leadership especially in the area of teaching, research and extension in an academic Institution.
c. Must provide evidence of managerial and administrative leadership and capacity to promote a collegial working environment at the Accra City Campus of the University.
d. Must demonstrate capacity to attract funding for research and development.
e. Must have the vision and the drive to oversee the growth and development of the Accra City Campus.
DUTIES
Under the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Student Affairs, the Principal is responsible for providing leadership to the Campus and for maintaining and promoting the efficiency and good order in accordance with the policies and procedures prescribed by the University Act and Statutes, or as may be determined by the Council or the Academic Board.
The Principal is to ensure that the approved programmes and functions of Campus are duly carried out by members of the Accra City Campus.
The Principal is also responsible for the general administration of the Campus in respect of human, financial and material resources within the general framework of University policy.
Effective Date of Appointment
The appointment will take effect from 1st August, 2012
Tenure
Three (3) years in the first instance but renewable for another term of up to 3 years.

The application pack should contain the following:
i. Completed application form for senior level Administrative positions (UAB Form 1C).
ii. An up to date Curriculum Vitae.
iii. A statement of up to 5 pages indicating how one intends to use the period in office to address relevant issues that will ensure that the University achieves its vision and mission.
