For area of specialisation of graduate programmes, candidates are advised to contact the various Departments/Schools/ Institutes. The University of Ghana handbooks volumes 1&2 on sale at the University Bookshop and the University of Ghana website also provide additional information on all programme offers.


Adult Education MA/M.Phil (Full Time)/PhD, Two Year MA Sandwich), A minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) pass (from recognized Universities) will be required from all applicants.

1. Applicants to the MBA/MPA programme will be required to have worked for a minimum of three years after obtaining their Bachelor’s Degree.

General Requirements

  1. A good first degree in a relevant field of study at the University of Ghana or any other approved University.
  2. For the purpose of assessing a candidate’s eligibility, he/she may be required to take an entrance examination or interview or both, as directed by the Board of Graduate Studies.

How To Apply

  1. ON-LINE APPLICATION SCRATCH CARDS can be obtained with Bankers Draft by Applicants with Ghana WAEC results at the Cash Office and the Information Centre of the University of Ghana, Legon Campus, at the Institute of Adult Education Offices in all the regional capitals, and at UniBank, Ecobank, Ghana Commercial, and HFC Banks.

    Applicants should buy the Graduate Application Scratch Card and CAREFULLY follow the instructions given.

  2. Applicants must in addition submit the following documents to the School of Research and Graduate Studies.
    1. Certificate authenticated by institution awarding degree
    2. Transcript authenticated by institution awarding students academic results.
    3. Referee forms

NB: Kindly write your serial number as it appears on the Scratch Card on all the above documents before submission.
