SEMINARS ON UNIVERSITY MANAGEMENT
The second in the series of seminars on University Management has been scheduled as follows:
Dates and Venue
Tuesday May 8 to Thursday May 10, 2012 in the Great Hall, University of Ghana.
Theme: Harnessing the Benefits of Management Information in Higher Education Institutions.
Sub-themes :The following sub-theme will be explored:
1. Building Capacity for Evidence-Based Policy-Making and Management in African Universities – the findings and recommendations of the Higher Education Research and Advocacy Network in Africa (HERANA) Case Study on eight universities in Africa;
2. The Law and Information Handling in Higher Education Institutions under the Data Protection and Freedom of Information Bills;
3. Systems and Structures for the Effective Management of Information in Higher Education Institutions;
4. Building a good institutional reputation through effective management of institutional information.
The following have agreed to serve as resource persons: Dr. Nico Cloete, Director, Centre for Higher Education Transformation, South Africa (On the HERANA Study) and Professor Kofi Kumado of the Faculty of Law, University of Ghana.
Participation: It is expected that as many of the senior members within the administrative and professional grades of the University will attend this seminar in the interest of their own professional development and progression in the University.
For greater involvement in the activities of the seminar, colleagues will be asked to serve in various roles as and when required during the seminar.
