| | Vice-Chancellor Confers with Turkish Ambassador |  | | | The Turkish Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Kenan Tepedelen has paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ernest Aryeetey, during which the two discussed areas of possible collaboration between the University of Ghana and Universities in Turkey.
His Excellency Tepedelen, noted that there are about 80 public and private universities in Turkey offering a wide range of courses. He mentioned that he had begun initial discussions with the Vice-Rector of Bilkent University, a private tertiary institution in Ankara, on staff and student exchange programmes with the University of Ghana. He pledged his commitment to ensure a successful process leading to the signing of an agreement between the two institutions if this was agreeable to the University of Ghana.
Prof. Aryeetey indicated the University’s willingness to broaden its scope of engagement with international universities. He welcomed the proposed partnership with the Bilkent University, adding that the University has centres of learning that could collaborate with Bilkent University for mutual benefit.
The Ambassador later made a presentation of a book on Turkey to the Vice-Chancellor, after which he signed the Visitor’s book. | | | | Date Published: 03/08/2011 | | | |  | |
