| | MIDA Hands Over Bungalows to UG |    | | | The Millennium Development Authority (MIDA) has handed over six out of ten bungalows to the University at a short ceremony in Legon.
In an address at the handing over ceremony, the Board Chairman of MIDA, Prof. Samuel Sefa-Dedeh expressed gratitude to the University for providing temporary access to land for the construction of both the Engineers’ residences and the Contractor’s camp site.

He noted that as a result of the excellent collaboration with the University, the Complete Materials Testing Laboratory, set up by the Contractor, would be transferred to the Faculty of Engineering Sciences, to facilitate the training of Engineering students. He said in addition, the Contractor’s Camp, and all the buildings on the site, will also revert to the University as soon as the Contractor has completed his Contract.
Prof. Sefa-Dedeh assured the University that the remaining four bungalows will be added when the Resident Engineers and some staff move out, since the Contractors have to meet the terms of the 12-month Defects Notification Period in the contract.
In brief remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ernest Aryeetey lauded the good work the Authority has been doing over the past years. On behalf of the University, he thanked MIDA for the bungalows and noted that the University had also received computers and vehicles from the Authority. He assured the Authority that the donations would be put to good use.
The Chief Executive Officer of MIDA, Mr. Martin Eson-Benjamin handed over documents to Prof. Aryeetey to symbolize the official hand over of the bungalows to the University.
Present at the ceremony were the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. E.K. Osam, the Registrar, Mr. J.M. Budu and the Director of the Physical Development and Municipal Services Directorate (PDMSD), Mr. Philip Azundow, as well as staff from MIDA and the PDMSD.
