| | Department of French ends First Summer Course |  | | | The Department of French of the Faculty of Arts successfully ended it's first Summer course on Friday 27th July 2012 with a closing ceremony at the Maison Francaise situated in the Reginald Amonoo Building.
The seven-week programme had a total of 62 learners registered for the course and they undertook various modules namely : Oral comprehension and production, Grammar and written expression and Translation and literature. The student population was made up mainly of members of the University Community - undergraduate and graduate students, teaching assistants, lecturers, administrative staff, some wards of some University Staff and a few workers from outside the University community.
Students had the option of attending a 10 hour a week morning programme, a 6 hours a week afternoon programme or a 3 hours a week Saturday programme. They also had the option of choosing beginner, intermediate or advanced level of the course. Students displayed some of what they had learnt at the closing ceremony in the form of songs, a debate, a poetry recital, a skit and other presentations.
The Head of Department, Dr. C.K. Badasu was excited about the successful end of the programme which is hoped to be a yearly affair. Students were given certificates of participation.
The students expressed their satisfation with the programme and looked forward to the following year so they could move to the next level. | | | | Date Published: 02/08/2012 | | | |  | |
