Professor Nana Aba Amfo of the Department of Linguistics of the Faculty of Arts has been selected by the International Women’s Forum Leadership Foundation to participate in its 2012-2013 Fellows Programme. Her selection for the Fellows programme distinguishes her as a woman with enormous talent, promise and potential. She was selected from a highly competitive pool of candidates from around the world and a class that represents great diversity.

Comprising 35 women, the 2012-2013 Fellows Class represents emerging leaders from the corporate, government, academic and non-profit sectors who hail from 15 nations including Brazil, Canada, China, Costa Rica, Germany and Ghana.

Professor Amfo is the second recipient of the prestigious award in two years from the University of Ghana. She follows Dr. Elsie Kaufmann of the Department of Biomedical Engineering in that regard. They were both nominated by the Vice-Chancellor for representing very positively the future of female academics of the University.

The University congratulates her on this achievement.
