 The Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research at the University of Ghana, today joined the United Nations Development Programme to present the 2012 Africa Human Development Report on the theme: Towards a Food Secure Future.
The Country level launch was performed by the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Kwesi Ahwoi, was chaired by Professor Edward S. Ayensu.
 The UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative, Ms. Ruby Sandu-Rojon presented the report, after which there were panel discussions by Professor Anna Lartey and Dr. Edith Tettey.
Earlier, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Prof. Ernest Aryeetey, welcomed participants to the launch.
 The 2012 Africa Human Development Report argues that sustainable increases in agricultural productivity protect food entitlements the ability of people to access food. Further, that human development requires nutrition policies that unleash the potential of today’s and future generations. Also, that communities must be resilient enough to absorb shocks and have the power to make decision about their own lives.
