The University of Ghana Library System has organized an exhibition on the academic publications of Professor Elom Dovlo, a Professor at the Department for the Study of Religions and who is currently the Acting Director of the Institute of Continuing and Distance Education, Distance Education of the University. The exhibition was a prelude to Professor Dovlo’s inaugural lecture.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Ernest Aryeetey was assisted by Professor Dovlo and his wife Mrs. Stella Dovlo to cut the tape to open the exhibition. His publications exhibited included 26 journal Articles, 8 Book chapters, 12 International Encyclopedia entries and 8 conference publications.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ernest Aryeetey in brief remarks, described Professor Dovlo as "one of the most modest academics I have ever come across" and added "we must all learn from him". Prof Aryeetey thanked him for being a role model. He pointed out that the exhibition was a celebration of a man who had done so much by owning the highest number of publications. This, the Vice-Chancellor said points to the fact that it is possible to be in the Arts in Ghana and still be at the top.
Earlier in his welcome address, the University Librarian, Professor Ellis Badu urged members of the university community to visit the library and see new developments currently taking place.

In his comments, Professor Dovlo agreed that the journey had been a difficult one and used the opportunity to acknowledge the support from his students, wife and family.
In his remarks, Reverend Professor Omenyo who chaired the function thanked the organizers for the exhibition. He called on the media to acknowledge and publish works of academics, and for the government and the Ministry of Education to show more interest in the academic work of the university.
