SELF SPONSORED EXCHANGE PROGRAMME FOR STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF GHANA- APPLY NOW!

The International Programmes Office is offering students of the University of Ghana the opportunity to go on a self sponsored student exchange programmme for one (1) semester during the 2013/2014 academic year.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
The exchange programme is for a duration of one (1) semester. Students currently in Level 300 have the opportunity to spend the first semester of their final year (Level 400) abroad and come back to finish the last semester of their final year back at the University of Ghana. Students currently in Level 200 also have the opportunity to spend the second semester of their third year (Level 300) abroad and come back to continue with their final year at the University of Ghana.
Students should note that this is a self sponsored student exchange program. The student is responsible for the cost involved in visa acquisition, air fare, tuition, accommodation, living expenses and any other expenses that he or she may incur.
The University of Ghana will however provide the necessary documents needed to facilitate your visa application and application to the host university.
Kindly note that the host universities reserve the sole right to admit students into their institution.

ELIGIBILITY:
  • Must be a student of the University of Ghana.
  • Must currently be in level 200 or 300.
  • Must have a GPA of 3.00 or better.
  • Must pass an interview

ITEMS NEEDED TO APPLY:
  • Copy of your transcript
  • Copy of your bank statement
  • A valid passport
  • Two academic reference letters
  • Copy of your CV
  • A motivational letter stating why you want to study abroad (maximum of 300 words)

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

  • Submit CV, transcript and motivational letter stating why you want to study abroad to the IPO.
  • Attend interview at IPO when contacted.
  • Wait for notification of interview results.
  • If successful, submit copy of application form plus placement fee to the ISEP OFFICE (located at K.A. BUSIA lecture hall).
  • After notification of successful placement by ISEP, pay UG fees.
  • Submit original receipt to IPO and collect course exemption and approval form.
  • Submit copies of course exemption and approval form to:
  • IPO
  • Director of Academic Affairs
  • Dean Principal/Director ICDE
  • Head of Department
  • ISEP coordinator.
  • Collect UG letter of support for visa application from IPO.
  • Pay rest of ISEP fees and Initiate visa application process with assistance from ISEP coordinator.
