Strategic Plan

 

The short to medium term strategic plan of IAST:

The mandate of the Institute of Applied Science and Technology is to facilitate applied research and the transfer of knowledge, technology and innovation to Ghanaian enterprises for national development. In the immediate short term, IAST would seek to establish and materially support the formation of multidisciplinary consortia of expertise in the five priority areas.

In the medium term, IAST would:

Develop physical facilities for the activities of the Centre-laboratories, industrial incubators to facilitate proof of concepts and scaling up activities.

enlightened Acquire State of the art equipment to create a center of research excellence for postgraduate training and for north-south, and south-south collaborative research.

enlightenedEstablish and strengthen University-Industry partnerships to promote growth in the 5 priority areas.

enlightenedProvide skills training and upgrading for industry to facilitate modernization and enhanced industrial productivity and indigenization.

enlightenedDevelop and implement a program for effective dialogue with the community.

To accomplish these, IAST will seek to develop strong relations with micro, small and medium scale industries and industrialists and entrepreneurs.
