About Us

The Internal Audit Directorate (IAD) is an independent directorate within the University of Ghana strategically placed to promote governance, assess risk management practices, and to improve internal controls in the University and beyond.

The Directorate operates 8 different Units to enable it satisfy the audit needs of its clients. The purpose for the internal audit function is laid down in Statute 14 (Act 806), section 16 of the Internal Audit Agency Act 2003 (ACT 658) and Section 83 of the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921), which requires the establishment of an Internal Audit function in every covered entity.
