Dr. Loh Sena Akosuah Yvonne holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Geology and Physics, M.Phil in Geology and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Geology from the University of Ghana with concentration in Hydrogeology and Hydrochemistry.
Dr. Loh is currently working on a Danish International Development Agency, DANIDA sponsored project centered on the assessment of groundwater resources for climate resilient irrigation in the White Volta Basin. This project, which is about US$1.7 million, has recruited four (4) Ph.D. students. Results of this hydrogeological research are expected to be used in the development of a numerical model as a decision support system for groundwater resources assessment under scenarios of climate change/variability in the terrain. Dr. Loh teaches courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in Integrated Water Resources Management, Hydrogeology, and Hydrochemistry. She also reviews articles for the Journal of African Earth Sciences (Elsevier).
She holds membership of the following professional bodies: The Ghana Institution of Geoscientists (GhIG), Geological Society of Africa (GSAf), Organization for Women in Sciences for Development (OWSD), African Association of Women in Geosciences (AAWG), Ghana Science Association and Women in Mining Ghana.
