In a brief presentation ceremony at his residence, Mr Lawrence Addo of Relish Company Limited donated GHC60,000 to the University of Ghana Students Financial Aid Office (SFAO) to help needy but brilliant students acquire university education.
In presenting the donation, Mr Addo remarked that one of his goals in life is to help needy but brilliant students become informed, good and responsible citizens. According to Mr Addo, helping a single person through university education could have multiple positive impacts, including positive impact on the beneficiary himself, his or her family, community and nation as a whole.
Professor Francis K. E. Nunoo, Dean of Student Affairs, and Mrs Christine A.N. Baning, Head of the SFAO, received the donation on behalf of the University and commended Mr. Addo for his generosity, adding that the donation would allow needy but brilliant students in their final year of studies to complete their education. Professor Nunoo expressed the hope that others would be similarly motivated to help brilliant but needy students.
The Director of Public Affairs, Mrs Stella A. Amoa, thanked Mr Addo for his generous donation and commended him for his longstanding relationship with the University.
